In short

  • Wash at cold, 30°C (86°F) on a delicate, low spin cycle, using mild.
  • Dry flat or on a hanger, reshape while damp. Iron: cool, inside out.
  • Viscose and Rayon can shrink or distort, so temperature and drying method matter more than detergent choice.

Viscose loses roughly half its strength when wet. That is why garments distort in the wash and why a low spin matters so much.

Care guidance by garment

Use a delicate, low spin cycle and mild. It is a regenerated cellulose fibre — chemically closer to cotton than to polyester — which is why it breathes well but creases readily.

Drying and ironing

Dry flat or on a hanger, reshape while damp. For ironing: cool, inside out.

Shrinkage is often dramatic on the first wash. A garment labelled dry clean only usually means it, in this case.

How long it should last

Two to five years; it is not a long-life fibre.
